Learning Something New!

It seems that with digital scrapbooking I am constantly learning something new, and this layout is no exception.  I decided to try my hand at making a quick page or QP.  This was for a QPE or quick page exchange at scrapmatters.com.  Not only is this my first QP, but I learned how to put shadows on the elements/papers to make them look more realistic and layered.  I used the So Big kit by Man in the Moon Designs.  I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  I am posting both the QP and then the layout where I used the QP with a photo. Also for doing the QPE I will receive all the QP's from everyone who participated
(they all used the So Big kit as well).
Not a bad deal!

The quick page!
A lot of designers sell QP's made by their CT teams with certain kits,
but some designers also give away QP's on their blogs.

My layout using the quick page.
I definitely could see myself making QP's for a "Scrap For Hire (S4H/S4O)
kind of business in the future.  There are so many possibilities!

My Adventures--Part Two

Welcome back Peeps!

First things first, my Uncle Rudy came to see me (oh and I suppose Mommy and Daddy too).  My Uncle Rudy is my Daddy's youngest brother.  I haven't seen Uncle Rudy since my birthday party in Minnesota last June, so I was pretty excited.  At first I had to play shy, but before too long Uncle Rudy and I were inseperable.  Daddy told Mommy that he now knows how she feels when all I want is him.  I wasn't sure what he meant by that, but I was too busy having fun with Uncle Rudy to wonder.

Uncle Rudy was very impressed with all of my "Cars" cars and my Radiator Springs Town Rug.

I let him play with Sally the Porsche.  I played with Sarge and Fillmore.

Thanks for coming to visit me Uncle Rudy, I had a lot of fun!

Secondly, I went bowling for the very first time!
Mommy and I went with our friends, Jett, Presley, Baby Chesney and Miss Marina.
It was a lot of fun.

Here I am holding the the bowling ball.
Please note that the ball is bigger than my head.
Luckily it did not weigh too much!

"Cheese" Mom!  Can we start bowling already?

Look at that form!  First strike here I come!
What you don't get to see is how I did not give the ball enough "spin" and it stopped half way down the lane.  Mommy and I had to get the nice man to go get it for us.  Mommy decided after the third trip to see "the man" that she'd help me bowl.  We didn't do too bad.  I won't tell you my score, but let's just say I broke 50 in both games!!

While the bowling was top notch fun,
the air coming out of the ball return was the icing on the cake!

Here I am having supper, eating my new favorite food.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!  Mmmmm!

Well that's all for this adventure Peeps!
I will give you a hint for the next adventure...it starts with an "R"!  Later!

My Adventures--Part One

What up Peeps?  Holy bajoly have I been a busy boy!
Not only have I been enjoying the delightful weather and playing on my new swing set,
but I have been having lots of adventures with Mommy and even Daddy too!
As there are lots of things to share, Mommy says she will let me share my stories,
over several posts, as not to overwhelm my followers!
So here goes adventure number one.

Mommy and I are at the library where we go every Thursday for Toddler Time.
My all time favorite Toddler Time lady, Miss Lynne went to work at another library.
Now we have Miss Teresa.  She is okay, but no Miss Lynne.
Here I am trying to figure out what the heck she is talking about.

After the library, Mommy and I headed to Chick-Fil-A to have some sweet, sweet chicken for lunch.  If you've never been,  I highly reccommend.  D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!
After we filled our tummies, Mommy drove us to Brazos Bend State Park.
It was quite a drive, but nothing like the drive to Minnesota.
Mommy told me that we were going to see alligators, birds
and possibly other wild and extremely dangerous animals.
Um what kind of park is this?  Where are the slides, swings and jungle gym?
I didn't believe her, but then there they were.
Do you see the alligator, in the picture, behind me?

Here is it up close, in case you missed it.
That's right folks alligators in a park.  Holy Buckets!

There were quite a few people enjoying the nice weather and deadly alligators.
A nice man with the world's largest camera offered to take mine and Mommy's picture.
I played shy, and clung to Mommy.
But, we still got a nice picture, don't you think?

So after the pit stop onto the large dock, we kept on walking around the lake.
Mommy wanted to stop and take my picture again.
It may be difficult to read my expression, but I am saying,
"Hurry up and take my picture before the alligators eat me!"
That's right you guessed it, there were more alligator's in the water behind me.

Here they are.
Yes I know, they are just tiny little "babies", but they are still bigger than me!

Okay, so Mommy and I kept walking along, our goal was to do the full half mile trail.  Well then we came across this big fellow.  He was a little too close to the trail for Mommy's liking.  Mine too.  So we turned around and headed back the way we came.  After our hike, we went to the discovery center and talked with a really nice Park Ranger who gave me all sorts of cool stuff and she let me "pet" a baby alligator.  I also saw some turtles, snakes, and other cool stuff.  All in all it was a lot of fun.  Mommy says we'll go back and bring Daddy with us.
Well that's all for now.  Peace out Peeps!

Scrapbooking Challenge #9

Challenge #9--Scraplift a Layout Shape
There are so many ways to scraplift!
I used the following layout "Sweet" by Kelly Noel
from the July 2009 issue of Creating Keepsakes Magazine for my inspiration.

I scanned this page into the computer,
and it is not as nice, as it is in the magazine,
but what I scraplifted was the general layout,
and I just wanted to show that.
Here's mine.

While the original layout was done the traditional way (ie: paper),
I have done mine digitally (truly my new favorite way to scrapbook).
I used the Delightful kit and alpha by Shawnery Mathis.
The font used is Comic Sans.

For this page I used the Roman Kit for the Plenty of Personality Super kit by Bella Gypsy.
The font used is LD Chicken Scratch.
The template of course came from Laura with simply.scraps.

Element Challenge

For this challenge we needed to use/have curled/torn paper.
I found a template by Jen Caputo, that did it for me.
I used the Declan kit from the Plenty of Personality kit by Bella Gypsy.
The fonts used are LD Architect and LD Dabble.
P.S. Do you see the alligator?

All Stacked Up with Rachel

For this challenge we are given a stacked template.
Go here to find them available for purchase.
I used the Beary Sweet Boy kit by Connie Prince for this page.
The font used is LD Hand.

I also did a page for the numbers challenge, but I did not care for it, so I did not save it.
You can see it here.

Handsome, Smart and Artistic Too!

That's right folks, my hubby has it all.
For years he has told me that he wasn't artistic at all.  I beg to differ.
Look at the picture he painted while playing with Xander.
 Love you babe!

Scrapbooking Challenge #8

Scrapbook Challenge #8--Make it Sparkle
I'll admit it.  I love pretty things!  And I love incorporating pretty things onto my pages.  Sparkly, shiny rhinestones are just one of my favorite ways to add bling to my layouts.  I think there's room for something sparkly on almost any page.  For this challenge, add a bit of sparkle to your next page.

I used papers from the  "Persuasion" line by Bo Bunny.  The letters are also from Bo Bunny.  I used rhinestones and brads w/ rhinestones, though they are a little hard to see in the picture.

This is really, really fun!

Hello my peeps!  Have you missed me?  I have been a little busy.  Read on to see why.

So back during Christmas of 2008, my Grandma Jan told my Daddy and Mommy to go out and buy me a swing set.  Well they (Daddy) hemmed and hawed and needless to say Christmas 2009 rolled around and I STILL did not have my very own swing set.  Well Mommy finally got Daddy to go to The Home Depot and we bought all the stuff for my very own swing set.  It only took my Daddy three weekends to put it together (darn rechargeable drill/screwdriver battery), but alas I have my very own swing set!  I also got a sandbox for Easter LAST YEAR that I finally got to play in as well.  Check out the pics

Here I am enjoying the sand box while Daddy is putting the swing set together.

Notice the intense concentration.
Mommy and Daddy were very adamant about me keeping the sand in the sandbox.

Here is Daddy working on the swing set.  He is wishing that we had a patio at this moment because our backyard is not very smooth and flat, and apparently that makes it difficult to build giant swing sets.

Another shot--please note the cloudy skies.
Between the rain and the battery life this project was a doozy!

Woot-woot!  It's done!!!!  Actually they finished it while I napped on Saturday, but it was dark when I got up, so I had to wait until Sunday to play.  This is my inaugural climb up onto the slide platform.

Testing out the slide!  Wheeeeeee!

Testing out the swings.  I'd say my Daddy did a great job.  Wouldn't you?

Wheee this is really, really fun!
Thanks Grandma Jan for the swing set!
Thanks Daddy for building it for me!  I love it!
Well peeps that's it for now, it's a beautiful day and I need to go out to play!

My New Adventure!

I have been chosen along with several other very talented ladies to be part of the Creative Team (CT) for the super talented designer Shawnery Mathis.  Shawnery is a digital designer, and as many of you know I am in love with digital scrapbooking, so this is truly a dream come true.

You can find her kits here:   http://www.gottapixel.net/store/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=110  and here    http://www.acherryontop.com/shop/digital/company/shawnery%27s_designs

I am still learning the ropes of being on a CT, but I am having a blast doing so.
Here are my first two pages.

This page was created using Shawnery's newest kit "Doodled Basics".
The font used is LD Dainty, and the template is by Bella Gypsy.

This page was created using the "Giggles" kit.
The font is LD Elementary and the template is by Connie Prince.

Scrapbooking Challenge #7

Just a couple of notes--I am a couple days late w/ this challenge, but I felt it important to leave up the post about Layla Grace.  I apparently posted the last challenge as #7, when it should have been #6.  So I corrected that one and this post is #7.  Thanks!

Scrapbooking Challenge #7--Design with White Cardstock
Think of it like this: a plain white background is the little black dress of scrapbook pages.  Always there when you need it, always simple and elegant.

The papers are from Bo Bunny--"Love Bandit" and the font is LD Going Nuts.
