Thanks!

Despite the economy and other worldly worries, this Friday I opted to list some of the things I am thankful for!

1. My precious little boy-- who will be turning two in approximately 72 days, or 2 months 11 days. Hard to believe, I know! I am in the process of planning his party, and the plan is to have it up in Minnesota w/the family!
2. My hubby! Who is still letting me be a SAHM, even though he is always saying how poor we are! Love ya babe!
3. Naptime--not only does Xander wake up refreshed and raring to go, but it gives Mommy some "me"time!
4. Spring in Texas! It is like summer in Minnesota! Highs in the 70's--B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!
5. A yard to do yard work in, and a house to housework in! Since we've lived in an apartment for the last 10+ years, having a yard and a house and having to maintain it is nice! Of course I may not be as thankful come July/August when it is so H-O-T!
6. My family--I love you all
7. My friends--I love you all, too!
8. Dr. Seuss--thanks for writing books, that amuse me and of which I don't mind reading over and over and over!
9. Easter candy--I am going to have to say that Easter has the BEST candy of all holidays! Cadbury Mini Eggs, Cadbury Creme Eggs, Reese's Peanut butter Eggs (the hard coated ones, not the Reeses Peanut butter Cup eggs-though they are good too), and of course Peeps! But not too much of a good thing--one package of each seems to suffice until next year! Is is weird that I don't really like the one candy that is synonymous with Easter--jelly beans!?!?!?
10. Target's Archer Farms Organic Blue Corn and Flax seed tortilla chips with the Archer Farms Peach Mango Salsa--yummy!

21 months old today!

So today Xander is 21 months old! He is about 36" tall and weighs about 32 pounds! Only three months until he is two! Where has the time gone! He is really starting to string words together into little sentences and he said his first three word "sentence" on the 3rd, "Ready, Set, Go!" He also says "do that", "all gone", "all done" and "say it". He can say lots of words now and will repeat words you say. Some of our favorites are "yoink", "yay", "canoes"--Volcanoes, "music" and of course Mommy and Daddy! He has started with the terrible two's! He threw his first temper tantrum the other day because I took something away from him. He laid down on the floor in the kitchen and cried. It was actually pretty amusing, but I imagine it will only get worse!

Here are his favorites right now!

1. Balls--still goes ga-ga for them, he has more than 10, but it doesn't stop him from wanting more when we are at the store.
2. Dora/ Diego/ Little Einsteins (which he calls Einsteins) and various other TV shows. Half the time he doesn't even watch them, he just wants them on!
3. Animals--he loves to play with his animals and he has at least four (or more) in his bed at nap and night time. He also love his Fisher Price Noah's Ark. He'll carry those animals all over the place, or line them up on the TV stand!
4. He loves to go outside (or side as he calls it!) he just runs around the back yard, or up and down the side walk in the front yard. He'll pick up rocks only to drop them back where he got them! Hopefully we will be getting him a swing set soon, he loves to go on the swings and down the slide!
5. He loves water, and would play in it all the time if we let him. When we ask him if he knows what time it is, his first response is always "baff" aka bath! He loves to splash much to our chagrin! When the weather stays warm, we'll break out the water table again!
6. Food--he loves macaroni and cheese, fruit, peanut butter crackers, yogurt, Goldfish crackers (which he calls Pishies), and any kind of cheese.
7. Juice--what would he do if I gave him full strength juice? He gets a very watered down glass of juice, but is so happy. He is beginning to drink out of a regular glass, but only at the table, because he still has a tendency to dump it on himself!
8. Still loves to climb into baskets and boxes. He'll drag either his ball basket or stuffed animal basket over to the front of the couch and then dump out the balls or animals and crawl into those baskets. If he is feeling particularly lazy he'll prop his feet over the edge!
9. Books--he will bring book after book to me or Chris for us to read to him. He knows most of them by heart now! So much so that he is running to get another book when we are finishing up the last page or two of the first book! His favorites are Dr. Seuss books and these Sesame Street books I got at the Dollar Spot at Target.
10. His Daddy! Not that he doesn't love his Mommy, but he runs for the door when Chris gets home, and then is ALL about Chris! I don't mind too much, as it gives me a little bit of a break! And, as Chris plays Magic on Friday nights late, Xander doesn't see him until Saturday--he is glued to Chris!
11. Jumping on his bed! We are going to need to switch him over to a Big Boy bed soon, as he now likes to hold onto the side of his crib and jum up and down on the mattress!

What Xander dislikes at 21 months!
1. Any vegetable--I have started sneaking in pureed carrots and sweet potatoes into his mac and cheese!
2. Riding in a cart--or stroller. He wants to run free! Though he has been really good about holding my hand, so I have let him walk with me!
3. Not getting his way, when Mommy takes things away from him, when he can't get something to work correctly, etc. He definitely has my lack of patience!

He is such a joy and I am glad I have the opportunity to be at home with him watching him learn new things and grow into a sweet and wonderful little boy!

It's Friday!!!!!

1. _I helped someone who was struggling, trying to juggle too much stuff____ was my last random act of kindness.

2. Another place _I'd like to visit is the Bahama's____.

3. _Never use anger_ in matters of the heart.

4. Coffee, tea or _water__.

5. _Work, love and home life don't have to be on___ separate paths.

6. Our _son__ reminds me that there are _wonderful blessings____.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to _being lazy____, tomorrow my plans include _going to the zoo____ and Sunday, I want to _relax____!
