Scrapbooking Challenge #4

Challenge#4--Make Your Own: Chipboard Accents
Chipboard is so popular right now! By making your own chipboard accents, you can add a custom look to any scrapbook page.

My chipboard accent is the number 2.
I covered it with 2 patterns of paper and then added the buttons.
You also get two bonus pages, to complete Xander's 2nd Christmas
Sorry they are not very sharp and clear--I don't know what I need to do to get them to look better. Trial and error I guess.

Challenge #3--Focus on One Photo
Convert a favorite photograph into a black and white image, then use it as the focal-point photo on your page. It will draw your viewer's eye right into the essence of your layout.

It's just me again.

Hello I'm back! Did you miss me?
Even though it's only been a day I missed you too.
Now where were we? Oh yes...

Mommy and I made a lot of cookies over the holiday season. I really like cookies. I wish I could eat them all the time, but Mommy says they are not healthy and for a treat only. Oh well, all the practice I had making cookies led up to the mack daddy of cookie making. That's right, making cookies for the big guy himself--Santa.

I started out doing really well. I was carefully using the knife to spread frosting on my cookies, but then I got a little on my hand and well, I just couldn't help myself. I had tasted the sweet, sweet nectar that is frosting, and I had to have more. Looking back on it now I am a little embarrassed, but at the time licking the knife seemed like a good idea.

I finally got back in control and finished up with my cookies for Santa. I added just the right amount of sprinkles and sugar. I even added a little spit to one of the cookies, for extra flavor. Nah, I did it so Mommy and Daddy would let me eat one--I am so sneaky! After we sampled some cookies Mommy and I put some on the special plate for Santa and we also got some carrots and put them on the special plate for the reindeer. I had to remind Mommy to not forget the milk for Santa. Santa must have milk with his cookies.

After we did all of that Mommy and Daddy let me open two presents. They were so awesome. I got ALL the "Cars" cars that I had been missing and some bonus ones I didn't know I needed. I also got a play rug that is like my favorite town-Radiator Springs. And if that wasn't enough I woke up the next morning and came downstairs to find...

Santa had come!!!! He brought me a kitchen and table and chairs and all the fun stuff that goes with it. I also got LOTS of cool new toys from my family and friends. It was the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!

Mommy said she'd be posting some pages of me opening my presents so I am only showing you a couple of pics. It was a lot of fun and now whenever we get a package at the door or in the mail I MUST help Mommy open it. She really appreciates my enthusiasm and help.

No I am not a member of the Village People. I know there are lots of men out their who rock the tool belt without pants look, they just don't let themselves be photographed. You know who you are. Mommy and Daddy are pretty noobish when it comes to home maintenance, having lived in an apartment for over 10 years, so I have been doing a lot of work around the house for them.

Since Mommy has been talking up us visiting some schools, I thought I better make myself presentable, so I got a haircut. It is a little shorter than I wanted, but what are you going to do? Thankfully, I have a nice warm hat for those few days when the temperature gets chilly. I also figured, that since I was two and a half, I better get to shaving.

Shaving is a lot of work and I am putting in the request for an electric razor.

Well, now I am looking sharp and I am ready to check out some schools.
I'll let you know how that all works out.
Until next time my peeps--keep it real.

Hidey ho, neighborino!

Well my peeps it sure has been a long time since I've talked to you. You must be wondering what has been going on in my life, that has kept me from you. Well to be honest, it is all my Mommy's fault. She's kept me far too busy, and then she's been working on her own projects. But, I'm back baby and I've got stories to share. First up...

Mommy let me help her decorate the Christmas tree this year. It was so exciting. She unwrapped the ornaments and then I got to hang them on the tree. Of course sometimes I got distracted, especially if they were car ornaments and I wanted to play with them, rather than hang them on the tree. But, we managed just fine and got the tree decorated in only 1 day. I loved the Christmas tree. It was my job to make it "happy" every morning by turning on the lights. Mommy put on this special gold tree that was just for me to touch to turn the lights on. I sure was sad when Mommy said it was time to take it down. I thought by her taking the tree down, that all my Christmas presents went away too. Thankfully that was not true.

Man that was a rockin' tree.
Here I am hamming it up in front of the tree.
Looks pretty good doesn't it. We do fine work Mommy and I.

This is a new ornament that I got from our friends in Australia. In Australia Santa wears shorts and flip flops because it is summer there when it is winter here. Can you believe it? I was very happy to receive this gift. Especially since Mommy let me open it before Christmas. I even got to hang it on the tree.

Daddy took another day off during the week before Christmas and we spent the day doing super fun things. First we went and saw Santa. I wasn't diggin' him very much once we saw him in person, and I refused to sit on his lap. However, they did let me sit on this very cool purple box in front of Santa. I played it cool and gave my best "blue steel" for the nice camera lady. Afterwards we went to Build A Bear. I hadn't been in a while. Mommy and I had looked on the computer, the night before, to see what animals they had available and I picked a Panda Bear. I was very excited to see that they had the Panda Bear in the store, though it took us a bit to find it.

This nice lady here let me push a pedal with my foot and she put some stuffin' in my bear. I then picked out a heart and stuffed it inside. Then that nice lady sewed him up so his parts wouldn't fall out.

Then we moved on to the "washing" station. There wasn't any water, just air. I thought that was a little strange, but then Daddy helped me out and we got my panda clean.

Next we picked out something for the panda to wear. Didn't want him to get cold-it is winter you know. We tried on a few shirts including the one you see above, but then I decided that he needed a football and so we got him suited up. Too bad they didn't have a Vikings uniform. That would've been sweet.

Build A Bear was a lot of fun and I really like my friend Panda. Next stop was the book store, but Mommy and Daddy didn't let me get any books :( Then we went to Pei Wei and Mommy and Daddy enjoyed some Asian cuisine. I told them that Pei Wei is too yummy for me, so I enjoyed a cereal bar and some fruit snacks.

It was a great day. I like it when we have fun days as a family. Mommy says that we are going to have one next week. She says we are going to look at schools for me. I am not sure what that means, but I am keeping an open mind! Well peeps that is all for today. I'll be back tomorrow with more tales. Until then, peace out!

Scrapbooking Challenge #2

Challenge #2--Customize a Ribbon Border
No matter how you turn it or what you add to it (think buttons, lace, eyelets and embroidery floss), ribbon is a terrific page border that can be attached in so many creative ways--with eyelets, brads, staples, embroidery floss and more.

I used button brads, on my ribbon, to make the cute picture border.
Aren't my son and sweet niece just too cute?
If you knew what my sis and I had to go through to get these pics,
you'd feel for us :)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! My goals for 2010 are:

1. Take on the 52 Scrapbooking Challenges. I have both books, but I am starting with the first one by Elsie Flannigan. I will post 1 challenge a week and not only will I being trying something new, but I will also complete 52 pages! Woot Woot!

2. Eat healthier and exercise more. It's got to be done! Notice I didn't say lose weight :)

3. Read at least one book a month. I did really well last year, but finished only 10 books.

4. Try at least one new recipe a month--last year it was a week (and that didn't last long). I'll be a little more lenient this year :)

5. Last, but not least--try to stay better organized. I hate clutter, but I find myself always surrounded by it.

Here's to a great 2010!
